What's new in BricsCAD V25.2?

With the release of BricsCAD V25.2, we’ve added more than 30 new and improved features to enrich the daily workflows of engineers, manufacturers, builders, and surveyors. Whether you’re working with 2D geometry or 3D models, these additions give you what you need to accelerate productivity.

Workflow parity with existing tools

With each new release of BricsCAD, we strive to offer tools that increase BricsCAD familiarity and improve common industry workflows so new BricsCAD users can get started right away and become productive quickly. We’ve added the following features to increase BricsCAD’s parity with your existing tools:

Georeferenced Point Clouds – NEW

Users can benefit from georeferencing point clouds, and when geographic information is available, it is cached and the “Geolocate” feature can be used.

POINTCLOUDCOLORMAP – NEW

We’ve added a new X-ray color map to help you visualize your point cloud data more clearly.

PEDITEXT – NEW

Use the Ctrl key to select polyline center grips for editing.

TEXTOM – NEW

Now, you can set text as subscript or superscript with just the click of a button!

SELECTIONCYCLING – NEW

The selection dialog now supports multiple selections using the Shift or Ctrl keys.

Mechanical DWG Version Checker – NEW – BricsCAD Mechanical

BricsCAD now automatically checks the file version when you open AutoCAD Mechanical DWG drawings, with a ‘read-only’ mode that lets you safely open and inspect drawings, helping you avoid incompatible file versions.

Streamlined and easy-to-use workflows

We’ve simplified some of the most commonly used BricsCAD workflows to help you work better and faster.

Sheet Set Manager – NEW

You now have the option to open a model view directly from the Sheet Set Manager panel.

MATCHPROP – NEW

We’re introducing the Match Properties tool in the built-in text editor so users can match text styles between pieces of text.

3DOFFSET – NEW – BricsCAD Pro’s civil and surveying toolset

The new 3D Offset command shifts 3D character strings or polylines both horizontally and vertically.

BIMUPDATESTORYHEIGHT – NEW – BricsCAD BIM – Exclusive to BricsCAD

You can change the level height in your BIM model while maintaining complete control over how each entity should behave.

Design data interoperability

We’ve added some new tools to help you use your design data more effectively by ensuring BricsCAD delivers the file type you need.

KML/KMZ File Support – NEW – BricsCAD Pro Civil & Surveying Toolset

The GIS import and export commands now support KML/KMZ files, so BricsCAD users can export BricsCAD data and display it in Google Earth.

IFCEXPORT – IMPROVED

BricsCAD BIM users can now export IFC data with the option to use the IFC4 Reference View file format, the IFC4 certified output.

Innovative capabilities powered by AI

Some new AI-powered additions to BricsCAD V25.2 will help you accelerate your workflows even further.

Flip Entities (COPYGUIDED) – NEW – BricsCAD Exclusive

The COPYGUIDED command now allows you to flip entities along the same axis by holding down the Shift key or clicking the model space icon.

Specify a Base Point (COPYGUIDED) – IMPROVED – BricsCAD Exclusive

When using the COPYGUIDED command, you can now designate a base point when the copied detail has at least one degree of freedom.

DWGHEALTH – IMPROVED

You can now view routine descriptions directly in the DWGHEALTH panel without having to enter edit mode.
